Today, technology, knowledge, and resources permit large numbers of people to explore the furthest corners of the globe: the Libyan desert, Tuva, the Mongolian steppes, the Amazon rainforests, Antarctica, and even into the final frontier, outer space.  How are these journeys affecting our world, each other, and ourselves?
